Carter Named Big 12 Event Specialist of the Week

Irving, Texas ? Senior Stephanie Carter was named Big 12 Event Specialist of the Week for the second time this season, the conference office announced Monday. The Bryn Athyn, Pa., native was recognized after tying her season high on vault with a 9.90 to take second-place honors, while also finishing third on floor with a 9.875 in last Friday’s season-best win over Kentucky, 197.125-194.90. Carter added a 9.60 in just her fourth performance of the year on bars.

 

Iowa State’s Janet Anson was honored as Big 12 Gymnast of the Week.

 

Nebraska travels to Columbia, Mo., this Saturday, March 31 for the Big 12 Championships. Competition is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. at Missouri’s HearnesCenter. Tickets are available online at vwww.mutigers.com or from the Missouri Ticket Office at 1-800-CAT-PAWS (1-800-228-7297.
