The Nebraska Athletic Department and Host Communications are proud to announce that at least 10 <?xml:namespace prefix="st1" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"?>Nebraska softball games are scheduled to be broadcast live on select stations on the Husker Sports Network this season. The radio broadcasts will also be streamed live for free on Huskers.com, along with an additional 12 games broadcast only on Huskers.com.
The radio voice of Husker softball for the 2007 season will be Lane Grindle. A native of Hastings, Iowa, Grindle will enter his first year as the play-by-play man and will continue to host “Sports Nightly” which airs from 6 to 9 p.m., Monday through Friday across Nebraska. A graduate of the University of South Dakota, Grindle served as the Director of Sports Operations for KVTK-AM, the ESPN Radio affiliate in Yankton, S.D., before joining the Husker Sports Network (then Pinnacle Sports Productions) in January of 2006.<?xml:namespace prefix="o" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office"?>
Nate Rohr will also be back in the booth for the Big Red, adding color commentary after serving as both the play-by-play announcer and color commentator of Husker softball the past two seasons. In addition to teaming with Grindle, Rohr will again call all of the action in the Huskers’ Internet-only broadcasts.
The Husker Sports Network is in its 11th year of producing live broadcasts of University of Nebraska sporting events. The network broadcast nearly 15 softball games on the radio last season and produced nearly 30 live broadcasts on either the radio or Huskers.com.
