Minneapolis, Minn. ? Senior Lauren Bailey ended her illustrious career Saturday night at the NCAA Championships in Minneapolis, Minn., by finishing 24th in the 1,650 freestyle with a time of 16:27.34.
It was the highest finish of the three-day meet for Bailey, who placed 43rd in the 500 freestyle Thursday and 38th in the 400 individual medley Friday. The 2007 national meet marked the fourth straight year that Bailey competed in three events at the NCAA Championships. Last year she finished ninth in the 1,650 freestyle to earn honorable mention All-America status.
During her career, Bailey collected 68 wins. A two-time Big 12 champion, she also holds two school records (1,000 and 1,650 freestyle) and is second all time in the 500 freestyle (4:46.96) and third in the 400 individual medley (4:17.57).
