Lincoln ? The Nebraska women’s gymnastics team is ranked No. 8 nationally in the latest GymInfo poll released Monday. The poll, which is calculated by regional qualifying score, also ranks NU second in both the South Central region and the Big 12 Conference after a first-place finish (196.975) at NC State’s Hearts Invitational last Saturday. In addition, the Huskers rank sixth nationally in team vault (49.16) and floor (48.97) scoring, as well as seventh on bars (48.955) and 13th on beam (48.435). Nebraska's team RQS is 195.625.
Individually, junior Emily Parsons remains the nation’s top-ranked vaulter (9.945). Junior Desire’ Sniatynski is ranked ninth in the all-around (39.14) and 13th on bars (9.84). Senior Stephanie Carter is 22nd on vault (9.825), and Kylie Stone is 23rd (9.815) on floor.
Nebraska returns home to the Bob Devaney Sports Center for the Masters Classic next Sunday, Feb. 25. The annual competition, which features No. 3 Stanford, No. 12 LSU and NC State, is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
