Baltimore, Md.-The Nebraska bowling team topped the nation's best teams this weekend, earning a first-place finish at the Morgan State Invitational. The Huskers rolled a total pinfall of 9,220 in the two-day competition held at the Brunswick Perry Hall lanes.
NU competed against No. 1 Fairleigh Dickinson, No. 2 Vanderbilt, No. 3 New Jersey City and No. 5 Central Missouri State for the win.
Senior Amanda Burgoyne rolled a season-high 230 average for a first-place finish in the competion. Junior Lindsay Baker also had a season-best finish, placing second with a 220 average.
"We had a great weekend," Nebraska Coach Bill Straub said. "This was a very nice event."
The Huskers will have a two-week break before traveling to the Holiday Classic on March 3 at Bessemer, Ala.
