In January, former Nebraska defensive end Jay Moore shared his experiences from the Senior Bowl with Huskers.com in a daily journal. Moore checked back in with Huskers.com on Friday to update Husker fans on his recent preparations for the upcoming NFL Scouting Combine and NFL Draft.
Friday, February 16
Once the Senior Bowl was over I was able just to focus on competing at the Combine. I felt that my performance at the Senior Bowl helped me out, but I feel I can really help myself out more at the NFL Combine.
I leave for Indianapolis on Friday, February 23rd and get back on the 26th. These last three weeks since the game have really been beneficial to my performance going into the Combine. Each time we have performed a drill I have outperformed my last times. Our workout routine is all geared up for peaking at the Combine and I can really see that coming into place.
The workouts have kept me busy but I still find time to see the city. Every weekend I go to New York City and go shopping and out to eat. The restauraunts are unbelievable in Manhattan and I loved going to Little Italy and eating dinner. My girlfriend came up here and spent the weekend with me after the Senior Bowl and my parents came up here last week and it was fun to be able to take them to Manhattan and see the sights and sounds of the city.
Right now I am still working out and trying to improve every day. I am very confident that I will perform well at the Combine. Like I said earlier I come back from the Combine on the 26th of February and then I will be back in Nebraska for a couple of months until all the mini-camps start. I will workout at the Pro Day in Lincoln but it will only be position drills unless something drastic goes wrong at the Combine.
I can't wait to get back to Nebraska. Go Big Red.
