Stone Named Big 12 Event Specialist of the Week

Irving, Texas ? Sophomore Kylie Stone was named Big 12 Event Specialist of the Week for the first time in her career, the conference office announced Tuesday. The Calgary, Alberta, native was recognized after capturing her fourth career individual event title with a first-place finish on floor (9.925) at Michigan last Friday. Stone also tallied an outstanding 9.90 on vault to set a career best and take second-place honors, in addition to finishing fourth on bars (9.825).

 

The Big 12 Conference has established the Event Specialist of the Week award this season, in addition to the previous Gymnast of the Week honor. Parsons has also been selected Big 12 Gymnast of the Week six times in her career, bringing her to a total of nine weekly conference awards. Missouri’s Adrianne Perry was honored as Big 12 Gymnast of the Week.
