Huskers Ranked Sixth Nationally

Lincoln ? The Nebraska women’s gymnastics team maintains its No. 6 national ranking for the third consecutive week in the latest GymInfo poll released Monday. The poll, which is calculated by total season average, also ranks NU first in both the South Central region and the Big 12 Conference after a second-place finish (195.35) in a triangular with Michigan and Illinois on Friday. In addition, the Huskers rank sixth nationally in team vault (49.16), bars (49.06) and floor (48.97) scoring, as well as 17th on beam (48.435)

Individually, junior Emily Parsons remains the nation’s top-ranked vaulter (9.945) and ranks 11th on floor (9.875). Sophomore Vanessa Meloche stands in sixth on bars (9.89), while junior Desire’ Sniatynski is rated 16th on bars (9.865) and 24th in the all-around (39.155).

Nebraska continues on to a five-team meet at North CarolinaState next Saturday, Feb. 17 at NCSU’s Reynolds Coliseum. The Huskers will face NC State, West Virginia, William & Mary and George Washington at 6 p.m. (CST).
