Lincoln ? The Nebraska women’s gymnastics team maintain its No. 6 national ranking this week in the GymInfo poll released Monday. The poll, which is calculated by average team score, also ranks NU first in both the South Central region and the Big 12 Conference after a 195.075-195.05 loss to Oklahoma on Friday. In addition, the Huskers rank sixth nationally in team vault (49.137) and bars (49.031) scoring, as well as ninth on beam (48.906) and 11th on floor (48.619).
Individually, junior Emily Parsons remains the nation’s top-ranked vaulter (9.95) and ranks third on beam (9.887) and 12th on floor (9.875). Sophomore Vanessa Meloche stands in fifth on bars (9.894), while junior Desire’ Sniatynski is rated 15th on bars (9.862) and 22nd in the all-around (39.15).
Nebraska returns to the road for a triangular at No. 9 Michigan with Illinois on Friday, Feb. 9 at UM’s Crisler Arena. The competition is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.
