Lincoln - The Nebraska Athletic Department has announced the return of Dollar Days for several home events this weekend.
Dollar Days, which features $1 admission, $1 hot dogs, and $1 Pepsi products for all fans, will begin Thursday at the NU Coliseum when the No. 20 Nebraska wrestling team plays host to No. 4 Oklahoma State at 7 p.m.
The Dollar Days excitement continues on Friday, when the Nebraska men’s and women’s gymnastics teams battle conference rivals Oklahoma at the Bob Devaney Sports Center at 7:30 p.m.
On Saturday, the Nebraska men’s and women’s indoor track and field teams join in the fun of Dollar Days during the Frank Sevigne/Husker Invitational at the Devaney Center Indoor Track. Saturday’s portion of the two-day event is scheduled to start at 10 a.m.
The Dollar Days action will reach its peak on Saturday when the No. 25 Nebraska women’s basketball team squares off with No. 13 Baylor in an important Big 12 showdown. The Huskers and Lady Bears enter the week in a tie for second place in the conference standings at 5-2. NU enters the week with a 17-4 overall record off to one of the best starts in school history.
The last time the two teams met in Lincoln, the Huskers produced one of the biggest wins in school history in a 103-99 triple overtime thriller. Kiera Hardy scored a career-high 37 points to help Nebraska knock off the eventual 2005 national champions.
Saturday’s game with Baylor will also be Red Cross Appreciation Day at the Devaney Center. Tip-off is set for 2:30 p.m. with live national television coverage provided by FSN.
