The Nebraska Athletic Department has announced plans for a “Red Out” at the BobDevaneySportsCenter on Monday, Jan. 29, for the Nebraska-Kansas men’s basketball game. <?xml:namespace prefix="o" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office"?>
Fans attending the contest between the Huskers and eighth-ranked Jayhawks are encouraged to wear red to show their support for Nebraska. The game, which will be NU’s first appearance on ESPN’s “Big Monday” telecast since 2000, will be televised nationally starting at 8 p.m.
Nebraska owns a 12-6 record heading into Saturday’s contest at KansasState while KU is 16-3 entering weekend action where it will play host to Colorado. The Huskers are 9-1 at home this season after suffering a one-point setback against Texas on Wednesday.
NU has won three straight home games against ranked teams dating back to the 2004-05 campaign, including topping No. 20 Creighton earlier this season. Overall, the Huskers are 3-2 in their last five games against ranked opponents.
