Baseball 101 Registration Deadline Extended

For registration until Thursday afternoon, fans can call City Impact at (402) 477-8080.

Lincoln ? Join University of Nebraska baseball coach Mike Anderson and his coaching staff for the inaugural session of Baseball 101, set for this Friday, Jan. 26, at the Hawks Championship Center. The Huskers are teaming up with City Impact to help low-income children in the Lincoln community while providing fans an inside look at the Nebraska baseball program.

Join Husker baseball coaches and their spouses, along with local umpires in a day of fun-filled activities to increase baseball knowledge and raise awareness for a great cause. Fans who participate in the event will use the same facilities as the Huskers, including the state-of-the-art hitting cages inside the Hawks Championship Center.

The event runs from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. and sessions are available for all levels of baseball fans. A total of 10 sessions will be offered to fans, including sessions on basic baseball terminology, offensive and defensive strategies, pitching and hitting stations, keeping score, umpiring baseball along with a whiffle ball game inside the Hawks Championship Center.

The cost for the Baseball 101 is $95, which is tax-deductible, and fans can sign up and learn more about the event by visiting www.cityimpact.org.  For more information on Baseball 101, contact the Nebraska Baseball Office at (402) 472-2269 or City Impact at (402) 477-8080.
