Lincoln ? The Nebraska women’s gymnastics team is ranked No. 7 nationally this week in the National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches poll released Monday. The poll, which is calculated by average team score, also ranks NU first in both the South Central region and the Big 12 Conference after a 195.725-195.325 win at IowaState on Friday. In addition, the Huskers rank sixth nationally in team bars scoring (49.037), seventh on vault (49.087) and floor (48.95) and 16th on beam (48.387).
Individually, junior Emily Parsons is the nation’s top-ranked vaulter (9.962) and ranks sixth on beam (9.85) and 12th on floor (9.862). Sophomore Vanessa Meloche stands in 13th on bars (9.875).
The Huskers will travel to Columbia, Mo., this Friday, Jan. 26, to take on No. 22 Missouri. Competition is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. at MU’s HearnesCenter.
