Huskers Earn First Season Title

Chicago, Ill.-Redshirt freshman Cassandra Leuthold captured her first collegiate individual title as the No. 2 Nebraska bowling team rolled to a first-place finish at the Maverick Challenge on Saturday.  The Huskers threw a total pinfall of 13,576 for their first team title of the 2006-07 season. Following NU was No. 5 Alabama A&M, which threw 12,996 for the second-place finish.

Three Huskers earned spots on the All-Tournament team behind the win.  Leuthold placed first for Nebraska with a 202 average, while senior Amanda Burgoyne held a 197 average for a third-place finish.  Junior Lindsay Baker rounded out Nebraska's All-Tournament selections, placing fourth with a 195 average. 

Senior Adrienne Miller also had a season-best finish, placing seventh with a 192 average.

The Huskers return to action on Dec. 1 with a two-day tournament at Daytona Beach, Fla.
