First Two Husker Games to Be Televised Locally

Lincoln --- The Nebraska Athletic Department announced Tuesday that the first two men’s basketball games of the Coach Doc Sadler era will be televised locally as part of an agreement with Cox Communications Omaha. The addition to the telecast schedule brings Nebraska’s total to at least 20 televised games this season.

The athletic department will team with Cox Communcations Omaha and NET Television to air the Nebraska-Creighton game on Saturday, Nov. 18. The athletic department and Cox Communications Omaha will produce the event which will then be distributed in Nebraska on NET2. The Huskers’ game against the nationally ranked Bluejays will be seen live with Greg Sharpe handling play by play duties and Matt Davison serving as color man.

"It was important to the fans of this state that our game Saturday be seen on television and we are excited to be able to bring it to them," said NU’s Executive Associate A.D. Marc Boehm. "Partnering with NET and Cox Communications Omaha provided the best possible opportunity for our fans outside of Lincoln and Omaha to see this game. We’re proud of the teamwork between all parties to make this happen."

Nebraska’s season opener against Nebraska-Omaha on Tuesday, Nov. 14, will also be shown in Lincoln on a tape delayed basis with Jeff Motz calling the action and Cole Stukenholtz adding color commentary. The game will air on Channel 21 in Lincoln at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 15.

Both games will also be seen live on the Internet at the Huskers’ premium subscription site, HuskersNside.com, and a live radio broadcast can also be heard around the world on Huskers.com.
