COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Nov. 8, 2006) ? Despite a team-high 20 points from Nancy Metcalf, the U.S. Women's National Volleyball Team fell to China, 25-20, 23-25, 22-25, 17-25 at the FIVB World Championships on Wednesday.
Metcalf, who is tied for fifth in points at the World Championships with 108 points, totaled 18 kills on .297 hitting, a pair of solo blocks and four digs for the United States, which fell to 2-2 is tied with China in the second round.
The U.S. will take on Azerbaijan on Thursday in their second match of this round. The top four teams from each of the pools advanced into the second round.
