Metcalf, a three-time All-American at NU, lead all <?xml:namespace prefix="st1" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"?>U.S. performers with 25 points and added three digs to help Team USA to its first win in pool play. Metcalf’s performance on Tuesday was the second-highest point total on the opening day of competition, trailing only Pavlova Yelena of Kazakhstan, who had 35 kills in a losing effort.
Team USA is in action again tomorrow as it takes on the Netherlands.
