Nebraska Coach Bill Straub Rolls 300 Game

Lincoln - As preparation for a successful 2006-07 Nebraska bowling season began this week, Nebraska Head Coach Bill Straub took time out to enjoy some success of his own by rolling a 300 game Wednesday night.

Straub, the 2005 National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) Coach of the Year and two-time PBA tour champion, bowled a 300 in his first game of men's league action on Wednesday night at Hollywood Bowl in Lincoln.

It is the most recent of many perfect scores Straub has amassed during his impressive career.

Before Straub celebrated his 300 on Wednesday, he celebrated the start of the Nebraska women's bowling season with the squad's first practice at the Husker Bowling Facility in the East Campus Union on Tuesday.

The Huskers begin their pursuit of their eighth national title under Straub. Most recently, the Huskers earned back-to-back NCAA titles in 2004 and 2005.

The 2007 campaign begins on Nov. 10 with a tournament at the Wisconsin Invitational in Whitewater, Wis.
