Huskers Remain No. 1 in CSTV/AVCA Coaches Poll

Lincoln ? Nebraska kept a firm grasp of the No. 1 spot for the fifth consecutive week, as the Huskers were ranked at the top of the CSTV/AVCA Coaches poll released Monday.

The Huskers, one of five unbeaten teams in the country with a 12-0 record, received 46 of the 60 first-place votes and totaled 1,480 points, 27 points ahead of Penn State. The Nittany Lions (13-0) received 13 first-place votes, while No. 4 Washington received the remaining first-place vote. All five unbeaten teams are ranked this week, including UCLA (15-0) at No. 3 Southern California (13-0) at No. 5 and New Mexico (16-0) at No. 22.

Three Big 12 teams are ranked this week, including Texas at No. 8 and Missouri, which swept the Longhorns over the weekend, checking in at No. 19.

The Huskers are off until Saturday afternoon, when they take on Baylor. First serve between the Huskers and Bears is set for 1 p.m. (central) and the match will be carried on B107.3 FM and on the Internet at Huskers.com.
