Ameritas Joins Nebraska's Premier Sponsors

A longtime friend and supporter of the University of Nebraska, Ameritas Life Insurance Corp., has elevated their commitment to <?xml:namespace prefix="st1" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"?>Nebraska to become a premier corporate sponsor with the University of Nebraska Athletic Program. <?xml:namespace prefix="o" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office"?>

 

Nebraska Athletic Director Steve Pederson announced today that the two organizations, who share common goals, values and a love of Husker athletics, have signed a multi-year corporate sponsorship contract that designates Ameritas as the official insurance and investment partner of Nebraska Athletics.

 

“We are fortunate to have had a wonderful working relationship with Ameritas in the past and we are looking forward to working together to provide great opportunities for UNL college students and Husker student-athletes,” Pederson said.

 

Ameritas has provided academic and athletic support to the University of Nebraska for more than a century.  Previous support for athletics from the Nebraska-based company has been evident at football, basketball, volleyball and baseball games.  Beginning this weekend in Memorial Stadium, Ameritas will have an increased presence at Nebraska’s athletic venues.  Ameritas has also been named the title sponsor of the Husker Volleyball Players Challenge Tournament, annually played the second weekend in September.  This year’s event features Nebraska, Minnesota, Cal Poly and Louisville. Ameritas contributions will go toward the advancement of all athletic programs and will assist Husker student-athletes to succeed at the highest level.

 

Commenting on the new agreement, Larry Arth, Chairman of Ameritas Life Insurance Corp., said, “We are proud to partner with the Nebraska Athletic Department through a relationship that has been built on shared values and trust.  Speaking on behalf of Ameritas associates, we are excited about partnering with the Huskers.”

 

“Our goal is to ensure that our student-athletes are successful in athletics, academics and life,” Pederson said. “Our partnership with Ameritas will help us to enhance our facilities and our academic programs, assisting our student-athletes toward success in each of these areas. We have enjoyed working with Ameritas in the past and are excited about this partnership that will take us well into the next decade.”

 

Ameritas becomes the fifth premier corporate sponsor of Husker Athletics.  The contract has been approved by the University of Nebraska Board of Regents.
