Bredenburg Enters Collegiate Coaching Ranks

<?xml:namespace prefix="st1" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"?>Lincoln - Wayne State College announced Wednesday that former Nebraska soccer player Brooke Bredenburg will take over head coaching duties for the Wildcats women’s soccer program this fall.<?xml:namespace prefix="o" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office"?>

 

Bredenburg was a four-year letterwinner at Nebraska from 2001 to 2004 as a forward, a midfielder and a goalkeeper.  On the pitch, Bredenburg earned six goals and two assists in her senior year, including a pair of goals and an assist during the NCAA Tournament while leading Nebraska to its eighth Sweet 16 appearance.  In goal, Bredenburg boasted a record of 11-6-1 and logged a goals-against average of 1.39.

 

Bredenburg graduated from the University of Nebraska with a degree in K-12 art education and went on to coach at BeatriceHigh School this past spring, leading the Lady Orange to a Class B-4 district runner-up finish.

 

“I am very excited to be a part of the Wayne State College athletic family and begin this new chapter in my life,” Bredenburg said.  “I look forward to taking the next step in getting Wildcat women’s soccer contending for a conference championship and a berth in the NCAA regional tournament.”
