Huskers Head to Wyoming for WNIT

Lincoln - The Nebraska women's basketball team will travel to Laramie, Wyo., for the second round of the 2006 Postseason WNIT to battle the Wyoming Cowgirls on Tuesday at 8 p.m.

The Huskers (18-12) advanced to the second round of the WNIT for the third straight season with their 62-59 victory over Drake on Thursday at the DevaneyCenter. Two-time first-team All-Big 12 guard Kiera Hardy led the Huskers with 18 points, five assists and four steals against the Bulldogs. She also knocked down the go-ahead three-pointer with just over one minute left in the game.

Wyoming (21-8) earned its trip to the second round by defeating Oregon State, 67-49, in the first round Saturday night in Laramie. The Beavers defeated Santa Clara in their preliminary round game in Corvallis, Ore., on Thursday night.

Nebraska’s game with Wyoming can be heard on the Pinnacle Sports Network on 1400 AM-KLIN in Lincoln and 1110 KFAB in Omaha, and world wide on the Internet at Huskers.com. Wyoming did provide a free live video stream (without audio) of its first-round game with OregonState on its official website - wyomingathletics.collegesports.com ? but no information is available yet for the Nebraska game.
