Huskers Duo Competes at Nationals

Athens, Ga. ? Juniors Lauren Bailey and Kate Wheeler represented Nebraska again in day two of the NCAA Championships in Athens, Ga., on Friday.

Friday was the only day of the three-day competition that Bailey and Wheeler are not swimming in the same race, as Bailey was in the 400-yard individual medley and Wheeler in the 200-yard freestyle.

The Husker duo will now turn their attention to the 1,650-yard freestyle on Saturday. Bailey enters the meet as the reigning Big 12 champion and ranked 14th nationally in the event. Wheeler is seeded 34th.

The preliminary races begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, with finals starting at 7 p.m.
