Lincoln ? The University of Nebraska announced on Tuesday that two <?xml:namespace prefix="st1" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"?>Nebraska softball games will be carried statewide on NET Sports. The televised games will include NU’s series opener with Baylor on Friday, April 14 at 5 p.m., and the Huskers’ series finale with Texas A&M on Sunday, April 30 at Noon.<?xml:namespace prefix="o" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office"?>
Both games will be carried live on NET2, as well as NET-HD. The pair of televised games will feature three of the top teams in the nation. The 18-4 Huskers are currently ranked 15th in the NFCA/USA Today coaches poll, while Baylor is No. 18 and defending Big 12 regular-season champion Texas A&M is 20th.
The possibility exists that one or both games could also be picked up nationally by CSTV. Last season, CSTV partnered with NET Sports to carry two nationally televised Husker softball games.
Nebraska returns to action on Friday for its final weekend of non-conference play. The Huskers will host Akron and North DakotaState in the inaugural Big Red Tournament, which is scheduled to begin at Noon on Friday.
