Huskers Open Zone D Diving Meet

Columbia, Mo.? The Nebraska diving team opened up the 2006 Zone D Diving Championships on Friday afternoon by placing two in the finals of the women’s one-meter dive.

 

Though neither qualified for the NCAA Championships, it was a successful day as senior Amie Buoy led the Huskers in ninth place with a score of 489.10. Buoy is competing in her fourth consecutive zone meet, and was joined in the finals by redshirt freshman Courtney Jolly, who placed 18th with a score of 429.55 in her first zone appearance.

 

Among facing Big 12 competition, Nebraska is also up against Houston, Arkansas, Southern Illinois and Southern Methodist, who is ranked No. 9 in the latest CSCAA poll. Texas and Texas A&M are 10th and 11th and Missouri is 25th.

 

The Huskers will continue the meet tomorrow with the three-meter dive. The men’s one meter will begin the day at 10 a.m., with the women to follow.
