Dallas -- Sophomore Emily Parsons, the nation’s top ranked all-arounder, was named Big 12 Gymnast of the Week for the second consecutive week on Wednesday. The native of St. Charles, Mo., earned the honor for the fourth time in her career.
Parsons scored a career-high 39.625 in the all-around and won four of five individual event titles as No. 6 Nebraska tied Michigan last Friday night. In addition to winning the all-around, Parsons won vault (9.90), balance beam (9.925) and floor exercise (9.95), establishing a career-best score on beam and tying her career high on floor. Parsons is rated nationally on beam (second), vault (tied second) and floor exercise (seventh).
