Huskers and Aggies Meet in Semifinals

The Nebraska soccer team can move one win closer to the sixth Big 12 Tournament title in school history this afternoon, when the Huskers face Texas A&M in the semifinals of the 2005 Big 12 Tournament at Blossom Soccer Stadium in San Antonio, Texas.

Texas A&M and Nebraska have been the two most dominant programs in the 10-year history of Big 12 soccer. The Aggies and Huskers have combined to win seven of the nine previous tournament titles and have met seven times at the Big 12 Tournament, including four meetings in the championship game.

NU owns a 5-2-0 record against A&M at the Big 12 Tournament, including a 3-1-0 mark in the title game. The Huskers are 17-4-0 all-time at the Big 12 Tournament, the best mark in the league. The Aggies are 12-5-1 and are the only team besides NU to boast an all-time winning record at the tournament.

The winner of Friday's match will advance to the championship game on Sunday at 1 p.m. against the winner of the match between No. 2 seed Colorado and sixth-seeded Texas. That match will be televised on a tape-delayed basis by Fox Sports Net.
