Huskers Continue Preparations for Wildcats

Lincoln- The Nebraska football team donned half pads for a two-hour practice inside Cook Pavilion Wednesday, as preparations continued for Saturday’s 1 p.m. match-up with KansasState.

After practice, Head Coach Bill Callahan addressed the depth at the offensive tackle position behind starters Lydon Murtha and Matt Slauson.

“We will look to guys like Chris Patrick and Newton Lingenfelter to provide depth for us behind the starters,” Callahan said. “If Neal (Fuamatu-Thomas) can come around later this week, he has a chance to play as well.”

Callahan also discussed the impact last year’s junior college recruits have had on the program.

“I think we have gotten a lot out of all of these kids,” Callahan said. “A lot of those guys have contributed and done a very good job, but the jury is still out. We have played a lot of young newcomers this season and we’ll see how they all come along as they progress further.”

Nebraska will continue its preparations with a Thursday afternoon practice.
