Times Announced for Red/White Series

Lincoln ? University of Nebraska Baseball Coach Mike Anderson announced the dates and times for the upcoming Red/White Series this week at Hawks Field.

The three-game series begins under the lights on Tuesday, Oct. 11, with a 6 p.m. first pitch with afternoon contests on both Wednesday, Oct. 12, and Thursday, Oct. 13. All games are free to the public and concession stands will be open at the ballpark for fans. Rosters for both teams will be decided following this weekend’s practices.

The Huskers return 15 letterwinners from last season’s College World Series team that won a school-record 57 games, including All-Americans Joba Chamberlain and Johnny Dorn, All-Big 12 closer Brett Jensen and Lincoln Regional MVP Andy Gerch.

Next week’s Red/White Series is the final time to see the Huskers in action before they open the 2006 campaign at Charleston Southern on Feb. 16. The home opener is March 11, against SEC power Alabama.
