Lincoln ? Pinnacle Sports Productions and the University of Nebraska Athletic Department have announced several additions to the original television list, giving more people the opportunity to watch Wednesday’s matchup between No. 1 Nebraska and No. 7 Missouri from the Hearnes Center.
First serve is set for 6:30 p.m. (central) between the Huskers (13-0, 4-0 Big 12) and Tigers (12-0, 5-0 Big 12) and the match will be carried on three cable channels, Time Warner Cable in Lincoln and Southeast Nebraska, Cox Cable in Omaha and Pinpoint Communications in the towns of Cambridge, Bartley and Indianola
The two teams are among the seven remaining unbeaten teams in Division I volleyball. Wednesday’s broadcast, one of three matches that Pinnacle Sports Productions is producing for television, will have Mike Kelly providing play-by-play and former Missouri volleyball coach Craig Sherman providing color commentary.
For Time Warner customers, the match will be shown on digital cable Channel 102. Customers must have the digital cable tier and a digital converter box to view the game. In Omaha, the match will be shown on Channel 802, and Pinpoint Communications customers in the three towns listed above can watch the match on Channel 27.
For fans who are unable to watch Wednesday’s match live, the contest will also be shown on a tape-delayed basis on Fox Sports Midwest this Sunday, Oct. 9, at 2 p.m. (central)
In addition to the television broadcast, the match will also be carried on the radio on selected Pinnacle Sports Network stations, including B107.3 FM in Lincoln, and on the Internet at Huskers.com. Pinnacle Sports Network has been carrying University of Nebraska athletic events on the radio for the past decade, but Wednesday’s match will be the Network’s first television broadcast.
Wednesday’s match is the first of three televised matches to be placed on local cable by Pinnacle Sports Productions this fall, as it will also carry the Oct. 11 match against in-state rival Creighton and the Oct. 12 contest against Texas Tech live from the Nebraska Coliseum. In all, 12 Husker matches will be televised this season while every match can be heard on the radio and on the Internet.
