Opening Statement
"I just came out of the locker room with our players, and I am just so proud of them and their efforts and ability to hang in there under the circumstances today. I think we took a step as a football team, I really do. You couldn't have been in more adverse situations as we were today."
On Nebraska’s special teams
"We talk about it every day. We pay attention to special teams and I'm just so proud that it paid off in such a crucial situation."
On junior quarterback Zac Taylor
"He has the ability to elude people and he has some escapability in the pocket. We don't like him to use that, but we were forced to today. He came up with some big plays in that respect."
On the defense
"I'm really proud of our defense again and the way they played with their backs against the wall in the two-minute drill and the way they responded with the block. I can't say enough good things about the way Coach (Cosgrove) is coaching that defense and the way the players have responded."
On the Nebraska offense
"We've got to do a better job as an offense and we understand that. We know exactly where we're at in order to be the team we want to be."
On Nebraska’s penalties
"It squandered a lot of opportunitites for us today. We've got to become a more disciplined football team in that respect."
On field goal situations
"We practice field goal rush live every day. And I'm so proud that it paid off in two crucial situations and we got two blocks and most importantly the last block of the game. Adam Ickes got that last block and I'm certaintly proud of him and his efforts. We talk about it every day."
On the win
"Collectively as a team, it's a good win. There are a lot of things that we can take from this win and grow from and learn from. Our guys played extremely hard. We knew this was going to be a physical game. We knew Pittsburgh had their backs against the wall. We knew that they were certaintly a capable football team. It's interesting that a game like that has no turnovers."
"You can't say enough good things about the effort those kids put in. Absolutely this is a big win for our football team because of all the adversity we faced and had to overcome."
