Lincoln ? Nine current and former Nebraska gymnasts earned recognition from the conference for their academic accomplishments by being named to the Big 12 Commissioner’s Spring Honor Roll on Thursday.
Senior Richelle Simpson, who achieved a perfect 4.0 grade-point average during the spring semester, led the impressive contingent of women’s gymnasts on the list. Senior Jamie Saas and sophomores Stephanie Carter, Kristi Esposito, Dani Millis and Michele Zabawa also earned spots on the honor roll, along with former Huskers Gina Bruce, Tiffany Byrd and Carrie Gloudemans.
The Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll recognizes student-athletes who earned a 3.0 GPA or higher during the previous semester. Overall, Nebraska had 274 student-athletes named to the spring honor roll, including 37 who produced perfect 4.0 grade-point averages during the spring semester.
