Lottery System Established for NU/ASU Game

From CWSOmaha.com:

Omaha, Neb.
? Due to anticipated demand for seating at Rosenblatt Stadium during the University of Nebraska/Arizona State University game on Friday, the City of Omaha, College World Series of Omaha, Inc., and the NCAA will conduct a lottery system to regulate the same-day sale of reserved tickets available at the stadium box office.  This policy will apply only to the 6 p.m. NU/ASU game on Friday, June 17.

Lottery System Established for NU/ASU Game
According to Larry Foster of Omaha Parks and Recreation, “People interested in purchasing tickets for Friday’s 6 p.m. game should come to the shaded public area under the large tents in the stadium’s south parking lot at 7:30 a.m. on June 17.  Between 7:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m., Rosenblatt staff will secure numbered bands on the wrists of those wishing to participate in the ticket lottery.

“At approximately 8:40 a.m., a random number will be drawn.  The person wearing that number becomes the first person in line to buy tickets for the NU/ASU game. Buying order will then follow sequentially from the initial number drawn,” Foster said.

Fans who are successful in the lottery will be required to immediately purchase their tickets at the Rosenblatt Stadium box office.  They will be limited to purchasing four tickets, and only cash or checks will be accepted.  Fans participating in the lottery are advised that no stadium or zoo parking will be available, so they should allow adequate time to secure parking on a public street near the stadium if they plan to be in the lottery.

Reserved seating for Friday’s 1 p.m. game between Florida and Tennessee will go on sale immediately after all reserved tickets for the NU/ASU game have been sold, Foster said.

“The lottery system, which is designed to be fair to everyone, worked well during the 2002 Men’s College World Series when Nebraska University participated, and we do not anticipate any problems this year,” Foster said.

Time Established for Forming Lines to General Admission Seating
While a general admission ticket does not guarantee a seat, those ticket holders who arrive early will usually find a seat open in the bleachers, Foster noted.

“For both the NU/ASU and Tennessee/Florida games, fans may begin to line up for admission into the general admission seating area at 12:01 a.m. on Friday.  Lines may form at either the right or left field general admission gates.  Separate lines will be formed for each game and fans are advised that no parking will be available within the stadium or zoo parking lots,” Foster said.

Overnight camping is not permitted on the grounds of Rosenblatt Stadium, except for authorized RV’s within the RV lot and those waiting in line for general admission tickets.  In addition, the stadium will be cleared between the 1 p.m. Tennessee/Florida game and the 6 p.m. NU/ASU game.

“Upon leaving the stadium after the first game, general admission spectators may line up for the second game, but they will be required to take a position at the end of the general admission line,” Foster added.

Upgrading General Admission Tickets
General admission tickets can be upgraded to reserved tickets at the Rosenblatt Stadium box office based on reserved ticket availability.  The box office will open at 10 a.m. each day.  Starting Friday, June 17, general admission tickets may be upgraded to reserved seats for an additional cost ($9 difference in price between the general admission ticket valued at $8 and reserved ticket price of $17) for that day’s games only.  No more than six general admission tickets may be upgraded per game.
