Regents Approve Additional Skyboxes

Lincoln - The University of Nebraska Board of Regents approved adding skyboxes to the Memorial Stadium Expansion Project on June 10. At a cost of $1 million to construct, the skyboxes will pay for themselves with rental and ticket revenue in one year.

After the first year, suite rental revenues, as well as season ticket sales from the North Stadium, these skyboxes will be used to help fund NU’s 23 athletic programs. The skyboxes would be constructed on the top level of the Tom and Nancy Osborne Athletic Complex, in place of the multi-use rooms previously designed and approved for this level.

"While this project did not start with a plan for skyboxes," Athletic Director Steve Pederson said, "it became evident that it made sense to add them into the construction project. We have been focused on making this facility great for our student-athletes and fans. The skyboxes are another great addition to this project."

The new design would accommodate 13 game-day suites as follows:
* Six game-day suites with seating for 12
* Six game-day suites with seating for 20-24
* One super suite with seating for 48
