Nebraska Cornhuskers Coach Mike Anderson
On Joba's performance
"I think this is the most inspirational performances I've ever seen at HaymarketPark. It was pretty incredible by Joba. He fired me up throughout the day. He was attacking and in a fearless mode. He cramped up a little bit and he fought through it. He was in command and disciplined and I think that's the best part about it."
On Daniel and Jeff
"Daniel's home run gave us that lead and that comfort. And what we call a jug run, it's getting that extra run by Jeff Christy. It was a gutty performance and I'm proud of our kids."
"It's a win and we're excited about it, but I kept trying to impress on them all year long is winning series. So we haven't done anything. We've just won a game within a series."
Center Fielder Daniel Bruce
On being down by one run before his hit
"We weren't worried. We were only down by one run and every time they score we want to answer it, and we did that. That's what we want to do every time. Our guys did a great job of doing that."
Catcher Jeff Christy
"We just stayed confident throughout the day. We knew it was going to be a close ball game when we came into it. It was going to be a matter of scratching runs across here and there and that's what we kept trying to do. It was just a matter of time before we got some."
Pitcher Joba Chamberlain
"I threw a lot of first pitch strikes and I thought that was the key to the whole game ... I had that confidence that maybe I lacked a little bit in the last couple of starts. I had confidence in myself and in my teammates."
On the cramp
"It got tight throughout the game, but I knew I still had to go out and make my pitch. In the back of my mind it was still there but I had to block it out and go out and do my thing."
Miami Hurricanes Head Coach Jim Morris
On the game
"It was a great crowd here today. It's great to see how Nebraska has progressed in baseball the last two years. Cesar Carillo pitched well, but Joba Chamberlain was totally in control, espeically with his outstanding slider. But we have to come back tomorrow and give a great effort."
On Nebraska's Jeff Christy
"He had a great game. He got on base when he was hitting, and he did an outstanding job of stopping our running game. He has a quick release, and his throws are very accurate. It was a slow track out there today (on the basepaths), but he deserves a lot of credit for stopping our running game."
On the disappointment of losing with ace pitcher Cesar Carrillo
"It's disappointing in the fact that we're used to winning on Friday. We just have to come out and win tomorrow and then we'll worry about Sunday. We have to swing the bat better tomorrow."
On Miami's starting pitcher for Saturday's game two, Brandon Camardese
"He's a left-handed starting pitcher. He started for us most of the year, but he was out three weeks with the mumps, and his first start back was last week in the NCAA Tournament."
On the Hawks Field crowd
"It was a great crowd. It's great to see college baseball progress like this in the United States. The commitment to baseball from the Nebraska administration and fans is great to see. They were really into it today. They made the first inning seem like the ninth as into it as they were."
Pitcher Cesar Carillo
On his performance
"I felt great out there today. I had every pitch working out there-my fastball, slider and changeup. But they just hit every mistake I made."
Second Baseman Paco Figueroa
On Miami's offensive struggles
"We just have to pick it up tomorrow. We have to come out strong as hitters tomorrow."
On his fourth inning home run
"It was a pitch out over the plate and I just swung and hit it."
