On Thursday's practice:
"I told them today that if they have that kind of energy and that kind of hustle and use their voices like they did in today's practice, then we're going to be in pretty good shape."
On what the team needs to do this weekend:
"There have been days where we've been able to compete against anyone in the country and that's what we need to come out and do. We just need to be agressive and stay within ourselves and really make it about effort."
On pitcher Ashley DeBuhr:
"Ashley's been real seasoned this year and she's had the opportunity to throw against some of the top teams in the country several times going through the Big 12 Conference and in our preseason as well. So even though she hasn't been in postseason yet but a lot of our schedule has been about postseason. So I feel she's ready and she's rested."
On the ups and downs of this season:
"Sometimes when you have downs, it's really easy to pack it in and we never quit. If you look at our record you will see some wins and some losses, but you never see a big skid. It's not like we fell into a black hole and just barely got ourselves out of it. We were always playing good teams and you look at our last five games, they were all against top-20 opponents. There was never a break, there was never a gimme, and I know we have some losses along the way, but this team never quit and that's why we're standing here today."
On Iowa pitcher Lisa Birocci:
"Lisa throws hard and she mixes the ball around. She throws hard into the hand, she moves the ball away from you and she's just a great pitcher."
