The <?xml:namespace prefix="st1" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"?>Nebraska football team practiced for better than two hours in full pads on the Memorial Stadium FieldTurf Friday afternoon, the 10th of 15 spring practices for the Huskers.<?xml:namespace prefix="o" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office"?>
The crowd at Friday’s practice was much larger than normal as the annual Spring Coaches Clinic is in full gear in Lincoln today and Saturday. More than 700 coaches from around the region are attending the clinic.
Coach Callahan opened the clinic on Friday, before talks by Millard North Coach Fred Petito, Jenks (Okla.) High Coach Allan Trimble and Omaha Creighton Prep’s Tom Jaworski. Friday night’s activities include a key-note speech by Kansas City Chiefs Head Coach Dick Vermeil, along with a Legends talk from former Husker offensive line coach Milt Tenopir.
The clinic wraps up tomorrow with on-the-field instructional drills in the morning, before the coaches get a chance to watch a second Husker practice in the afternoon.
Nebraska completes the third week of spring practice on Saturday with an afternoon workout that is expected to include significant scrimmage work. The Red-White Spring Game is set for Saturday, April 16 at 12:30 p.m. at Memorial Stadium. Tickets for the Spring Game are available at Huskers.com and at the Nebraska Athletic Ticket Office.
Huskers Authentic Sale: Huskers Authentic will be holding a Spring Game Week Sidewalk Sale next Monday through Friday. Nebraska’s three Sears Trophies will be on display on Tuesday and Wednesday at the store and items throughout the store will be priced 25 to 50 percent off throughout the week. On game day, the re-print of the Scoring Explosion Poster will be available at Huskers Authentic, beginning at 8 a.m.
