Huskers Conclude Spring Season at New Home

The Nebraska soccer team will open play at its new home this week when it faces Denver and the Canadian Under-20 National Team at Ed Weir Stadium. The Huskers, which had previously competed at the Abbott Sports Complex, will move on campus for the first time since the inaugural season of Nebraska soccer in 1994.

NU will see its first action at its new home when it faces Denver at 6 p.m. on Thursday. Nebraska will then face the Canadian Under-20 National Team at Noon on Saturday. Denver and the U-20 team will play a match at Noon on Friday.

The two games this week will conclude the Huskers’ six-game spring schedule. Nebraska opened its spring schedule by traveling to Florida and knocking off the Gators 1-0. NU then headed to North Carolina and topped the perennial national title contender 2-1.

In their last two games, the Huskers have played well, but have dropped a pair of 1-0 decisions to Duke on March 6 and Ohio State last Saturday.
