Husker Youth Experience Set for Saturday

Saturday will be a full day of activity at Memorial Stadium. The Nebraska football team will go through its third practice of the spring, followed by hundreds of young Huskers taking the field for the Husker Youth Experience.

More than 500 youth have signed up for the first annual Husker Youth Experience that will follow practice. The participants will have the opportunity to go through a series of football drills at Memorial Stadium, with instruction from Nebraska players and coaches.

Practice is scheduled to conclude at about 12:10 p.m., with the event scheduled to begin shortly thereafter. The Husker Youth Experience is scheduled to last for approximately 40 to 50 minutes.

“The Nebraska players and coaches are looking forward to having many of tomorrow’s players join the team for a day of football fun and fundamentals,” Coach Bill Callahan said. “It will be a great opportunity for our players to interact with some young football players, and help the youngsters develop their football skills and fundamentals.”

 * Plan to park in the high-rise parking across the street west from the stadium and enter the stadium through the West Stadium entrance.

* Family members are welcome to come and watch but will not be allowed on the field with the participants.

* Check-in will begin at 9:00am and end at noon.  Practice will begin at 9:40 a.m.  Hot dogs and drinks will be for sale for $1.00.
