Nebraska Coach Connie Yori said the Huskers were happy to be playing at home at least one more time in 2004-05.

“It is great to get our players and our fans another game in Lincoln,” Yori said.  “We have had some success playing at home over the past two seasons and we hope that can continue.  We also hope that the great fans who came out and supported us all season will be back at the DevaneyCenter on Monday night.”

The Huskers, who are 25-7 at home the past two seasons, including 12-3 this season, are ranked 25th nationally in average home attendance by attracting 4,100 fans per game to the Devaney Center during the 2004-05 season. The Huskers averaged more than 10,000 fans per game in their final three regular-season home games this year at the DevaneyCenter.

Iowa, 21-9 overall, also earned a spot in the second round on the strength of its 67-52 victory over 2004 Postseason WNIT Champion Creighton in the first round on Friday night at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.

The win by the Hawkeyes sets up the first meeting between Nebraska and Iowa in women’s basketball since Dec. 8, 1996, when the Huskers knocked off a No. 9 Iowa squad, 73-67 in the Big Kona Classic in Kona, Hawaii.
