West Lafayette, Ind. - Sophomore Lauren Bailey concluded her second consecutive trip to the NCAA Championships with a 27th-place finish in the 1,650-yard freestyle on Saturday in West Lafayette, Ind.
Bailey competed in three events at this week's national event and swam a time of 16:32.70 in the 1,650-yard freestyle to finish ahead of 12 other swimmers in her last race of the season.
The San Mateo, Calif., native knocked off 13 seconds from her career-best mark in the distance event this season following a time of 16:29.91 at the Big 12 Championships.
Flavia Rigamonti of SMU won the race in a time of 15:46.84.
Bailey and junior Amie Buoy competed for Nebraska at this week’s NCAA Championships as the largest representation for the Huskers since 2001.
