Kansas City, Mo. - University of Nebraska graduate and Kansas City civic leader Adele Hall will help lead the Husker women's basketball team into the Big 12 Tournament starting on Tuesday night when NU takes on Oklahoma State in the first round at 8:30 at Municipal Auditorium.
Hall, who is one of the most influential women in the Kansas City area, has previously been named the Kansas Citian of the Year and Johnson Countian of the Year. She has also served as the honorary coach for the NU women's basketball team during previous trips to the Big 12 Tournament in Kansas City.
Hall earned her bachelor's degree in eduction from Nebraska and later received an honorary doctoral degree from NU.
Adele's husband Donald J. Hall Sr., is the Chairman of the Board of Hallmark Cards, which makes its headquarters in Kansas City, Mo. Donald J. Hall Sr., is the grandson of Hallmark Cards founder Joyce C. Hall, who was born in David City, Neb., in 1891, and spent much of his childhood in Norfolk, Neb., before moving to Kansas City.
