Cary, N.C. - The Nebraska soccer team continued its spring season with a 2-1 victory over perennial power North Carolina in Cary, N.C. on Friday night. The Huskers took a 2-0 lead on goals from Selenia Iacchelli and Nikki Baker before the Tar Heels added a late goal.
Iacchelli, a member of the Canadian Under-19 National Team, joined the Huskers in January and will compete in her freshman season at Nebraska this fall. Baker is coming off a terrific junior season where she established career highs in both goals and points while tying her career high in assists.
With the win over the Tar Heels, NU has now defeated two ranked in two games this spring. In the spring opener, the Huskers traveled to Gainesville, Fla., and beat Florida 1-0.
Nebraska will stay in North Carolina for a match with Duke on Sunday morning.
