<?xml:namespace prefix="st1" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"?>Omaha- The Nebraska football team got a chance to visit some loyal fans Friday, as the entire team split up to visit two Omaha area hospitals.<?xml:namespace prefix="o" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office"?>
The Huskers visited both Children’s Hospital and VeteransAdministrationHospital, and had the opportunity to interact with fans that may not have the opportunity to make it down on a game day. The players spent an hour at each stop signing autographs and interacting with the fans on a first-hand basis.
The visits were a part of the University of Nebraska football community outreach program headed by NU Assistant Athletic Director and Director of Life Skills Keith Zimmer. Each year the Huskers participate in numerous programs and events to give back to the community.
