Patterson Named MPSF Gymnast of the Week

Senior co-captain Mace Patterson was awarded gymnast-of-the-week honors by the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation on Tuesday, March 1 following his contribution to Nebraska’s win over Iowa last week.  This is the third consecutive MPSF recognition a Nebraska gymnast has earned this season as sophomore Jason Wassung earned a pair of honors over the last two weeks.

Patterson led the Huskers to their first dual win of the season over the Hawkeyes in Iowa City, Iowa on Saturday, Feb. 26, where he finished the meet with both the all-around (53.35) and parallel bars (9.35) titles.  Patterson also placed second on the high bar (9.25) and third on the vault (9.40).  His performance not only earned him MPSF honors, but national distinction as well as he jumped into the NCAA ranks on the vault (18th), high bar (17th) and all-around (ninth).

This is Patterson’s second MPSF Gymnast of the Week title in his career at Nebraska.
