Columbus, Ga. - Due to persistent rains, the remainder of the NFCA Leadoff Classic in Columbus, Ga., has been canceled. The 17th-ranked Nebraska softball team had advanced to the semifinals of the bronze bracket with a 9-1 five-inning win over Georgia Tech on Saturday night and was scheduled to face Lehigh this morning.
NU (9-3) finishes the tournament with a 2-2 records including victories over UMass and the 15th-ranked Yellow Jackets. The Huskers head to Houston next weekend for the Hyatt Regency Classic, hosted by the University of Houston. Nebraska's first game is scheduled for Friday, March 4 at 10 a.m. (CST) against Western Michigan.
