Parsons Named Big 12 Gymnast of the Week

Dallas, Texas ? Freshman Emily Parsons was named Big 12 Gymnast of the Week for meets from Feb. 15-21, the conference office announced Tuesday. Parsons earned the honor for the second time in her career.

 

A St. Charles, Mo., native, Parsons won two event titles and tied for second in the the all-around with a season-high 39.475 in Nebraska’s win over No. 4 Utah. She claimed her fifth floor title and third vault title by tying her season-high of 9.925 in both events. Parsons placed second on balance beam with a season-high 9.90 and added a 9.70 on uneven bars.
