Huskers Plan to Pack the Devaney Again

Lincoln - The Nebraska women's basketball team shoots for another giant crowd with its second "Pack the Devaney" night of the season when the Huskers take on No. 16 Kansas State at the Bob Devaney Sports Center on Wednesday, Feb. 23, at 7:05 p.m.

The second of two "Pack the Devaney" nights for women’s basketball this season, Nebraska's game against the top-25 Wildcats will feature "Dollar Days" with $1 general admission tickets.  Fans can also purchase $1 hot dogs and $1 Pepsi products at the concession stands throughout the arena.

Tickets can be purchased right now by visiting Huskers.com and clicking on the "Tickets" icon in the top banner of the home page.  Fans can also purchase tickets over the phone through the Nebraska Athletic Ticket Office at 1-800-8BIGRED.

Nebraska's first "Pack the Devaney" night was a resounding success, with 12,429 fans on hand to watch the Huskers run to an 88-59 win over No. 14 Iowa State on Saturday, Feb. 12.  The 29-point win represented Nebraska's largest margin of victory ever over a ranked opponent, while the crowd was the third-largest in school history to watch a women's basketball game.

Third-year Husker Coach Connie Yori, who has NU in the hunt for its first NCAA Tournament berth since 2000, said Nebraska's large crowd made a major impact on the outcome of the Iowa State game.  After the game, Yori stepped to center court and used the public address system to thank the thousands of fans for attending.

"They hugely impacted the game," Yori said in her postgame press conference.  "Their energy led to our energy."

The Huskers, who improved to 15-8 overall and 7-4 in the Big 12 with the win over the Cyclones, will play a pair of road Big 12 Conference games at Texas A&M (Wednesday, Feb. 16, 7 p.m.) and Kansas (Sunday, Feb. 20, 1 p.m.) before returning to the Devaney Center for their showdown with the Wildcats.

Nebraska men’s basketball fans who attend the Huskers’ home game against nationally ranked Oklahoma State at the Devaney Center on Tuesday, Feb. 22, will also be admitted to Wednesday’s game against Kansas State free of charge.
