Page Earns Big 12 Rookie Honor

Lincoln - Nebraska freshman Danielle Page earned Big 12 Conference Rookie-of-the-Week honors for the first time this season when the league office announced its women's basketball weekly honors on Monday.

Page, a 6-2 forward from Monument, Colo., shared the conference's rookie-of-the-week award with Texas Tech's Darrice Griffin, while Texas sophomore Tiffany Jackson claimed Big 12 Player-of-the-Week honors for games played Jan. 24-30.

Page helped Nebraska to its fourth Big 12 Conference victory by producing career highs with 12 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks in a win over Kansas, NU's lone game of the week. Her first career double-double came in 27 minutes of work off the bench as she produced a career high in points for the third consecutive game. She also collected three steals. The Monument, Colo., native has averaged 10.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.0 blocks and 1.0 steals over the last three games.

Page won Nebraska's third Big 12 Rookie-of-the-Week award during the month of January, as junior Jelena Spiric claimed weekly honors on Jan. 10 and 17.  NU sophomore Kiera Hardy added Big 12 Player-of-the-Week honors on Jan. 17, giving the Huskers a total of four honorees during the first month of league play.

The Huskers go in search of their fifth Big 12 win of the season on Tuesday night when they clash with the Oklahoma State Cowgirls at Gallagher-Iba Arena in Stillwater, Okla.  Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
