Huskers Head To Las Vegas

The Nebraska bowling team is set to compete this weekend in the Brunswick Coca-Cola Classic in Las Vegas, Nev.  The two-day tournament is being held at the OrleansBowlingCenter and features some of the top bowling programs in the country.  Of the seven schools set to compete, five are ranked in the top-10 in the most recent National Tenpin Coaches Association Poll. The Huskers, who have won three-straight Coca-Cola Classic titles, are competing in their first Tier One event of the season.  According to Head Coach Bill Straub, the Nebraska bowlers are anxious to compete against teams they have not seen yet this season.

The tournament is set to start at 8 a.m on Saturday, and will conclude Sunday afternoon.

Burgoyne Earns Third Career Title

Nebraska sophomore Amanda Burgoyne earned her third career title, and second this season at the Greater Ozark NCAA Invitational.  Burgoyne averaged a 211 through ten games to capture the top spot.  On the season, she is averaging a 221.706, the highest average on the squad.  As a team, the Huskers finished the tournament second overall with a 8-2 record, losing only to CentralMissouriState.
